The idea
Indians with RSUs, ESPP shares or US brokerage accounts have to report foreign assets in Schedule FA every year. It’s one of the most error-prone parts of the ITR: it runs on the calendar year instead of the financial year, needs lot-by-lot reporting, uses peak values and a different exchange rate for each figure, and carries a ₹10 lakh penalty for non-disclosure under the Black Money Act. Most people either guess, or pay a CA to do tedious spreadsheet work.
We wanted to see whether a narrow, done-for-you service could replace that: statements in, traceable CSV out, ready for a CA to review rather than build from scratch.
What we’re learning
Will people trust a service with their financial statements? We lean on visible proof — citations for every figure, a public sample workpaper, deletion on request, data kept in India — rather than promises.
Is a done-for-you service better than self-serve software here? We deliver within hours with a human in the loop, which lets us handle messy statements and learn what breaks before automating it.
Do CAs act as a distribution channel? The product is built for CA review, and we included a ready-to-send request message for filers handling clients’ returns.
Which brokers matter most? Five are supported today, and everything else is handled over WhatsApp for now.
How much does ₹499 feel right for this? Priced at ₹499 per filing while we collect conversion and feedback on the price.
